CITIZEN CHRONOMASTER 1960s

Citizen's highest peak mechanical watch in the 1960s is this Chronomaster.

This watch, which is ranked as the highest rank among domestic watches at that time, was manufactured from October 1967. The Chronomaster is famous for its self-winding watch with a 52xx movement called the

52 series, but this hand-wound version is rare compared to the self-winding watch.

I think it's safe to say that it is one of the representative domestic watches of the 1960s and 70s.

Citizen is not as well known and attracting attention as SEIKO, but it is a brand that will be re-focused in the future.

As you can see, the design is quite simple, but if you look closely at the lug part, you can see that it was a luxury watch at that time, with twists and onyx used for the index.

The movement is also a line that uses Citizen's high-precision, high-end products at that time.

Since it is a screw back (screw-in type back cover), it is more waterproof than a snap-back (fit-in type), so it can be said that it is suitable for everyday use.

The 36mm case diameter is about 16.5cm around the arm, which is just the right size, not too big or too small.

Domestic watches from the 1960s and 70s that are still underestimated in terms of movement and design.

I think that the evaluation will increase steadily from now on just because many people are not aware of the value yet.
